Dr. Benjamin Akosa
I was born and spent my early life in Africa, after graduating from medical school, I moved to England, United Kingdom for Postgraduate Psychiatry training at Keele University in Staffordshire and then Psychiatry Residency training at the Renowned University of Maryland and Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry program in Baltimore, Maryland.
I am motivated by my pursuit of further knowledge and experience to enable me to provide the best possible service for my Patients.
My interest in Psychiatry developed from my passion to listen, understand and provide the right environment and treatment for those with psychiatric disorders.
I have very good listening skills and genuine interest in the welfare of my clients and their family.
I am an Associate Professor for the GRU/UGA Health sciences University.
I am a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and an active member of the Georgia Psychiatric Physician Association.
